STONE touch modules from 4.3″ to 10.1″ for machinery and equipment manufacturers. The interface is designed in a visual editor, and your controller only sends values over a serial port.
Module anatomy
The STWI101WT-01, from the back.
Everything needed to integrate it is on the board: the serial connection, project loading over USB and the internal clock.

8-pin serial connector. RS232, TTL, RS422 or RS485, with power supplied through the same connector.

TTL / RS232 selector. Sets the serial signal level.

USB port. Loads the project from a PC or a USB flash drive.

Clock battery (RTC). Internal date and time for logs and alarms.

Buzzer. Audible alert triggered by your controller with a command.

Processor and memory. 1 GHz Cortex-A8 and 256 MB of flash memory, under the metal shield.

How it works
The interface lives on the display; the machine only sends values.
Screens, graphics and buttons are designed in STONE Designer, STONE’s free editor, and loaded onto the module. Your microcontroller or PLC only sends and receives data over the serial port, using text commands in JSON format.

Laser aesthetic equipment.
Laser pulses generate interference that can cause false touches on commercial displays. The STWI101WT-01 is specified against electrostatic discharge (EN 61000-4-2: 6 kV contact, 8 kV air) and radio-frequency fields (EN 61000-4-3), according to the manufacturer’s datasheet.
CNC machine retrofits.
Servo motor and pump start-ups generate spikes that degrade communication with the display. The module is specified against bursts (EN 61000-4-4: 2 kV on power), according to the manufacturer’s datasheet, and renders the graphics itself, leaving the machine’s CPU free for axis control.
